Mantras for Nakshatras – Part 6

Purvashadha

Lord Jai is the Lord of the Purvashadha Nakshatra. A person
born in this constellation should be polite, honest, loving judicious,
sympathetic, balanced, optimistic, tolerant, too liberal, extravagant,
collector of very modern things and the possessor of a wide viewpoint and an
intelligent brain. He may be educated, endowed with close friends, fond of art
and drama and recipient of respect and honour from others. He may love
solitude, possess a weak body, be passionate and maintain relations with many
women. He may be gripped by many worries but will be efficient and attain
success very soon.

Purvashadha
Nakshatra controls thighs, the lower part of the spinal cord, the arteries and
the blood circulation. Therefore, these are afflicted when malefic planets show
their effect. To mellow down their native should worship any pond, river, well
or lake with white sandalwood, fragrance, lotus flowers, googal, ghee, ghee
lamp and ghee mixed with kheer (sweet made of rice & milk). Offerings
should be ghee, milk pudding and sweets. Perform homa with sesame seeds, ghee
and tandul mixed with the twigs of the root of Karnas and Aamrasamidha and
recite the followings mantra for hundred and eight times.
Om Apaghmap kilvishmap tyamporpa apamargtavmasmadap
dushvpanyagunsuvya om adhbhyonamah|| 



Uttarashadha
Vishwadeva is the lord of Uttarashadha Nakshatra. A person
born in this constellation may be desirous of leading a very ambitious life,
pleasant natured, possessing an attractive personality, fond of wearing fresh
clothes and having a good brain and a philanthropic attitude. He may be the
head of the family or society. He may attain skills in some special field of
study. He may be studying, law abiding, devoted to God, participative in
religious functions, practicing yoga, fond of authority, logical and benefiting
from the government or government sections.

Uttarashadha nakshatra controls the thighs and when, malefic
planets gave their effect, one may suffer from arthritis, pain in the joints,
sciatica and ailments of the eyes.

Warding off the malefic effect recite the following mantra
for ten thousand times as per rituals on Sunday during the period of
Uttarashadha Nakshatra. Perform homa with yava, sesame seeds, karpas mool and
aamra samidha for better results.

Brahmajgaanam pratham purastadwisimata suruchovvenaavya
sabughanaya upma asya vishta satschchayonimsataschcatviaya brahamane namah||
Shravan
The Lord of the Shravan nakshatra is Lord Vishnu, husband of
Goddess Laxmi and the rarer of the entire oblivious. A person born in this
constellation is grateful, good looking, charitable, endowed with all
qualities, wealthy, scholarly and famous. He may be engrossed in his devotion
to God and Brahmins. He would be blessed with a large hearted wife and with
many children. He may be keenly involved in the shastras, endowed with a son
and many friends, devoted to feed people, victorious and interested in
listening to the Puranas. He may execute any work only after giving it a lot of
thought, may benefit from trading, skilled at work relating to land and
enthusiastic in religious work.

Shravan nakshatra controls the portion below the knees, skin
and the arteries and these are afflicted when malefic planets show their
effect. Lord Vishnu is worshipped daily with fragrance of white sandalwood,
malti flowers, camphor, googal dhoop, and ghee lamp and shastras shalyaan to
mellow down the malefic effects. The Shirmad Bhagwad Gita and the Vishnu
sahasranaam should be recited daily. Shavi and kheer (sweet made of rice and
milk) mixed with the twigs of apamarg mool used as an offering in homa and the
following mantra should be recited for hundred & eight times.
Om vshnorratmasi vishnoo ranpatresatho vishnoo sayurasi
vishnoordharvooasi vaishnavmasi vishnvetva||
Om mahavishnave namah||
Dhanishtha
Vasava is the  Lord of
Dhanishtha Nakshatra. A person born in this constellation is fond of music, in
possession of gold and jewels, charitable, wealthy, happy, optimistic and
respected by friends. He may be modest, renowned, cultured, strong, sympathetic
and greedy for wealth but may be responsible for rearing many people. He may
have a lively temperament, may be short tempered, easily aroused, quick at
giving repartees, self praising and skilled at technical work.

Dhanishtha Nakshatra controls the knee, the back part of
knees and their middle parts and these parts are afflicted with ailments when
malefic planets transit. In order to ward off their malefic effect, one should
worship Tulsi plant and the Parthiveshwar Chintamani and recite the
Netroupanishad and Vedas daily. On Tuesday, the day of Dhanishtha Nakshatra,
one should offer kheer (sweet made of rice & milk), sweets and sesame seeds
and worship Lord Vasava with white sandalwood fragrance, lotus flowers, googal
and dhoop and mool should be worn in a silver amulet on the heart or arm. Bhringrajmool
and Tilajya payas should be mixed and homa is performed with the following
mantra to be recited for hundred & eight times.
Om tavso pavitrmasishatdhanratsavo pavitrmasi
sahastardharam|
Devsatva savita punatu vavsoo pavitren shatdharensuptva
kaamdhuksh|

Om vasubhayoo namah||
