Planetary Results
12.6.1 Combust/ Set Directions:
The sign in which the Sun is placed at any given time, makes the other two
signs near it as combust/ set. For example Taurus, Gemini & Cancer signs
are given in the East, so when Sun is in these signs from 15th May
to 15th August, all the three signs, Nakshtras, vowels, letters, Tithis and days are said to be set for
three months i.e. the length of time the Sun takes to pass over these three
signs. A native should not travel in a combust direction during this period.
When a Nakshtra, sign, letter, vowel or Tithi
is combust, it causes disease, obstacles/ sorrow, losses, confusion, or fear
respectively. If all five are set, then death is certain. Same applies for
other directions. When a Nakshtra, sign, letter, vowel, Tithi or all five comes
out of combustion, there is growth, victory/ success, gain, happiness, glory
and all-round prosperity/ increase in fame & status respectively.

The planetary strength is normally taken in terms of Viswa bal. During retrogression, the strength is doubled, during
exaltation it is trebled, during debility it is halved, but during fast motion,
it remains the same. The quantum of results by planets placed in different

12.6.3 Aspects on Nakshtra:
All planets aspect the 15th Nakshtra from their own location. In
bright half (Shukla Paksh), a benefic
Nakshtra aspects the next Nakshtra, while in dark half (Krishna Paksh), it aspects the previous Nakshtra. A malefic
Nakshtra does it inversely i.e. it aspects previous Nakshtra in bright half and
the next Nakshtra in dark half. Similarly the planet influences fully in bright
half and at half level in dark half. In addition, the planets also aspect
Nakshtra from their own location as follows:
