Kamboola Yoga:
Kamboola is derived from the word Maqbool
meaning “highly desirable”. This yoga is
formed when Lagnesh & Karyesh are in Ithasala and Moon joins either or both
of them.
The association of Moon enhances the quality of Ithasala yoga and
speeds up its fruition. To get the best results, both the Moon as well as the
Lagnesh & Karyesh must be strong. The classics describes 16 types of
Kamboola yoga depending upon the strength/ weakness of participants in the
yoga. The strength of planets for the purpose of this yoga are as under:
i)
Exellent (Uttama) – When the planet
is in exaltation/ own sign.
ii)
Good (Madhyam) – When it is in its
own Hudda and in its own Drekkana/ Navamsha. Since Moon does not have its own
Hudda, its being in its own Drekkana/ Navamsha is good enough.
iii)
Inferior (Adhama) – When it is
posited in its debilitation/ enemy sign.
iv)
Mediocre/ neutral (Sama) – When none
of the above conditions apply, and the planet is posited in the house of a
planet neutral to it.
A combination of above
mentioned four states of Moon on one hand, and the Lagnesh/ Karyesh on the
other, produces 16 different combinations as shown below:

An Uttam-Uttam Kamboola
may be seen with in Virgo Lagna with exalted Mercury therein in Ithasala with
exalted Mars in Capricorn and exalted Moon in open friendly aspect with both of
them. Similarly an Adhama-Adhama Yoga in a chart of Sagittarius lagna with
Jupiter in Capricorn in Ithasala with Mars in Cancer with Moon in Scorpio
having friendly aspect with both of them. All the three planets are
debilitated, thus forming almost useless, Kamboola yoga. Now let us see a
typical Kamboola Yoga.
Lagna is Capricorn with
exalted 11th lord Mars in it. Lagnesh Saturn is exalted in 10th
house, an excellent for rise in profession. 10th lord Venus is in 8th
house in Ithasala with Lagnesh indicating discontinuity (8th house)
in job (10th house) yielding place to another of superior nature.
This is supported by Moon, in own sign in 7th house, 11th
lord exalted Mars and exalted Lagnesh Saturn all in mutual aspect and Ithasala.
Mars & Saturn being in 4/10 aspect does not attract Manau Yoga. The native
had to give up his current job, but attained another higher & much better
job.
