The Vedic system of
astrology is mainly based on the principles propounded by the sage Parashara,
who was the father of sage Ved Vyasa. Sage Parashara had mentioned many
concepts, like Pada, Uppada, Argala and Karkansha in his classic works, which
later sage Jaimini, disciple of sage Ved Vyasa elaborated into different system
of astrology called Jaimini System. Hence the application of the Aroodha Lagna
or the Pada Lagna was emphasized and elaborately used by sage Jaimini in his

determined by counting the as many places from the Ascendant lord as the
Ascendant lord is situated from the Ascendant in the birth chart, the sign
falling in that house is Aroodha lagna for the horoscope. There are certain
