Thoughts on Vastu in connection to Mars

In this day and age people get houses made just on the basis of a contractor’s plan with no thought to Vaastu Shastra. They have no idea what kind of effects the design and layout of a house could make to the person’s life. Mumbai is a classic example of the malefic effects of making high rise buildings without considering Vastu laws. Since the lords of these buildings are constantly changing, people living there are unable to have children. They end up donating their wealth to some stranger when they die. Hence while making a house it is important to keep Vastu laws in mind.

Acharya Varahamihir has written about this in his work the Brihat Samhita. There is also some thought in Vasishtha Samhita.

The first step is to measure the length and breadth of the plot where the house is to be made. On this Gunakar has said: divide the figure by eight, the answer is named thus: 1. Banner, 2. Rotation, 3. Horns or Lion, 4. Base or lowly, 5. Rain or Water, 6. Gadarbha, 7. Elephant or mammoth, 8. Dhwaanksha.

For example if a plot measures 95 cubits in length and 83 cubits in width. The area in 7885. If we divide this by eight there is a remainder of fie which is the space for water. This is how the aayas are calculated. Of these those aayas which are alike are considered inauspicious and the ones which are not similar are considered auspicious. For Brahmins the Dhwaja, Lion for Kshatriyas, Vrish or Water for Vaishyas and Gaj are considered good for Shoudras.

Since Mars is the lord of soil and earth while making a new house it must be kept in mind and more particularly if Mars is malefic in the person’s horoscope.

The appearance of the house affects those who live in it. It is obvious that a house where there are constant quarrels, people are ill, don’t get food to eat, and sudden deaths occur cannot be a good place to live. There are four types of houses where this takes place:

There are five corners called Panchaka. People who live in this house face penury and constant illness.

This is called Vyagramukhi. The person has no children and his lineage ends with him.

This is called tiranpangada or triangular. The person’s peace of mind is destroyed, he is ill, debt ridden and forever defending himself in court.

This is called Vartulamukha. Therer is possibility of theft, debauchery, negligence and all the people living in this house are forever unhappy.

If Mars is strong in the horoscope then the person may progress in purchasing farmland or a house. There are two types of plots:

Now see an example of Vaastu thought:

Their house is Vyagramukhi and faces east. There were seven deaths in 21 years in the space of three years each and only one was of illness. They had lots of wealth but hardly any children. In 1927 the person sold the house and got married. Though he was left with little wealth he had a son and daughter and they lived contentedly thereafter.

It is also important to keep in mind the location and positioning of Saturn in a person’s horoscope.

Thoughts on Childbearing abilities in relation to Mars

Women who are unable to bear children or have children that die before the age of four have strange dreams that show the impossible taking place. They see visions of snakes being killed, cut into pieces, children snatched from mothers’ laps, collapsing houses, quarrels, falling trees, fruits falling off a tree, falling into a river or pond, struggling to escape from drowning, widows etc. These are not actually dreams but flashbacks of an earlier life. Only after they have repented sufficiently for these crimes of an earlier life can they have children. They will have to appease the Sun, Ganapati, Snakes or the Lord of Snakes to ward of their previous sins.
